Longleaf Flatwoods Reserve field trip

Santa Fe Audubon enjoyed another beautiful morning for a field trip to Longleaf Flatwoods Reserve. We were greeted by number of birds right beside the parking lot, including a variety of warblers and pair of Bluebirds who posed obligingly. Overall most birds were more inclined to be heard rather than seen, but a long close look at a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker busily about his food-hunting was as special treat. There were also a large number of interesting wildflowers coming into bloom.
